I am using windows 98 to develop some programs. In order to prevent the user to know that he is using windows system, i must hide the windows desktop. Now, i know how to hide all the icon on the desktop, but the windows taskbar is still visible. When windows startup, taskbar is still visible for one second and then hide, even if i have set its auto hide property as ture. The auto hidde property seems to work Can anyone give some advice? Thx :(

Your best bet would be completely replacing the explorer shell..

Just edit system.ini (I think it's system.ini, could be win.ini) and replace the "shell=explorer.exe" line with your application's executable.
