how to remove symbol in excel ?

Hi all

I have a excel file having data in each row in the form of simple text.
but I have a problem that every row has ) symbol before sentence.
Is it possible to remove all ) symbols.I can't use the replace option because there are so my text in brackets () too.

e.g.

1. )this is example 1.
2. )this (is) example 2.
3. )this is (example) 3.

so I just want to remove all ) just before the word "this"

A search and replace for ". )" (dot space close pareth.) works. I just tested
Replace with "." (dot)

I was also thinking for that but there are many lines without initial numbers,sorry for not mentioning it before.

What I did,I replaced all ")" with #.In this way ,atleast I know where is closing bracket ")" in between sentences.
