.iso question

i have a .iso of Ubuntu do i just burn this on to a disk or do i need some sort of software to burn .iso?

You'll need to burn it as an ISO, you can't just burn it straight to a disc.

Most commercial software will have this feature (I expect), but for a free windows version see: http://cdburnerxp.se/.

Personally I like to use PowerISO to open .iso files. You just open the file in the program, right click on it and extract it to somewhere on your hard drive, go to that folder where you put it and press the start application file.

Easy!

There is also one called MagicISO which does the same thing.

i dnt need to extract it lol it need to be an iso for me to boot and install it

also on my pc i have creator 9 i fink i can burn using that it; got a option called "burn image to disk2 is that what i want lol

nar lol Ubuntu is a free os i want to install it on a partition lol :P

edit: ok so i burnt the .iso to a dvd (maybe that is the problem or shouldn't;t that matter?) and set in my bios to boot form cd and nothing else and well i'm here so as you can see it still decided to boot from my hard drive lol :P

Are you sure you burned the ISO correctly.
