iTune trouble

I recently bought an iPod however whenever i attempt to use iTunes it takes litterally hours to load up and when it does eventually load up it doesn't respond properly does any one know why this is happenning ppppppppllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaassssssssseeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!

Computer Specs? Have you tried running a program such as Ad-Aware or Spybot to make sure that you don't have spyware bogging down your system? Have you done a full system virus scan?

does your comp even meet apple's minimal requirements?

Course it does im not a complete fool......
