Messenger/Hotmail issue

Hi , i have Xp and i just downloaded the latest version of windows messenger

it works fine, but

now, when i login to my hotmail account online, the text onscreen has changed! its like.....kinda blurry??

gone thorugh every option i can see but cant change it back to the way it was

any ideas?
