what kind of song?
The easy part is to create a loop, where the song repeats itself without letting people notice...

As for a normal song with diffrent chorus and stuf...u have to be really ponctuess

Or you just want to know how to add a song only?

I think you want the song to continue across all of your slides, and I don't think powerpoint supports this. Inserting a sound clip into the slide master causes it to restart each time you advance the slide, a little annoying, but that might work depending on your soundtrack.

You can load a song into winamp or media player and have it run in the background while showing your presentation. This isn't really a solution though

Or if you really have some time to waste on this you could make your whole presentation as a movie file in premiere or similar, then you'd have all kinds of flexibilty to make sure that the song and presentation are synched.

But that's waaay more work..

you might try flash with the simple effects...and add music in a layer...
but it cost a lot to buy it :?

The other thing is weird but it might work......;
Do all the effects on one slide in powerpoint.........

Now that's innovative, it would be a pain to edit anything in the finished product, but if you had one file with the slides separated, and then one with all the contents pasted on one slide (doing the animations as you paste), that would probably work.

This is what i found (the link is at the end of the post)

If you want your wav file to play through many slides follow these directions:
a. INSERT/MOVIE and SOUNDS/SOUND FROM FILE
b. Pick the sound you desire
c. This creates a little blue speaker on your slide. You can move or resize this icon
d. Right Click on your slide and choose CUSTOM ANIMATION
e. Click on the TIMING tab (Two tags will appear - PICTURE FRAME and
MEDIA) Depending on the order in which you want the picture or sound to
appear will determine whether it is PICTURE FRAME 1 or 2 ot MEDIA 1 or 2
f. Click on the MEDIA tag and then click on the ANIMATE radio button under
"Start Animation"
g. If you want it to automatically play vs mouse click, click the
AUTOMATICALLY radio button
h. Click on the PLAY SETTING tab and select the "Continue Slide Show" radio
button under "While Playing" to allow the sound to play
i. Under "Stop Playing" select the radio button that says "After X number of slides"
j. Select the "Hide While Not Playing" box if you do not want to see the blue
speaker icon
k. Click OK
l. Go to the first slide and choose "View Show" under the SLIDE SHOW drop
down menu to preview.
