Need Help: Unmountable Boot Volume

ok im running windows xp one fine day, surfing the net when suddenly, BAM. my com jams and i had to restart it. when i'm loading windows, suddenly a blue screen pops up saying 'unmountable boot volume' and a whole lotta crap. tried to run windows in safe mode but that crap appears again... anybody can help me with this? or do i gotta re format my computer? :cry:

if you want to save your files, then DO NOT format. Instead, use the recovery console instead!!!

Shut your computer off. Open the case. Remove the CMOS battery for about 10 minutes. Replace the battery and try booting. If that works, you'll need to reset your clock and time zone.

or you could just reinstall windows with your cd, just boot it up before windows do...

Check this site out, it explains it all.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... &spid=3223. I have fixed several computers with this same error. You can also download a file from microsoft which when ran loads the program onto 6 blank formatted floppies. Then just insert disk on and reboot your computer and follow the directions.
