need help with AIM! takes so long for my IM 2 actually send!

I really need help with AIM...it takes so long for my instant messages 2 send 2 mi friends. I type wut i want 2 type and then i press enter and it takes about 10 seconds 2 actually send it. can sum1 pleez help me?!?
