Hello people.

I am trying to use net send on my home network that consists of a linksys router and a D-link switch and overall holds 5 computers and all use file sharing etc etc.

They all run on windows XP SP2.

Now the problem.
I have recently started tinkering with command prompt and want to use the :\\net send (*) () command however when i use this command and try to send a message from pc to pc it returns with the same error every time:

An error occurred while sending a message to (computer name)

The message alias could not be found on the network

More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 2273.

I have enabled ip routing and everthing else that i could think of.

This issue is very frustrating and I hope someone can help.

Thanks :D

Did you enable the messenger service on all the PC's? NET SEND will not work without it and I believe it is disabled by default with SP2.
