Netsky worm Sucks! Please help.

This is an awesome forum! You guys are doing such good work. Check this out and see if this worm.win32.netsky issue can be resolved for me as well. BTW--my norton systemsworks needed to be updated and this is what I get for waiting around...Great lesson learned the hard way. Thanks for any help!

I read some other posts and realized I needed to also mention that I'm getting the random pop-ups (Windows Security Alert, Spyware Alert, etc..), also the internet coming on by itself with adware suggestions, and my desktop background is the red screen with the hazard logo stating my privacy is in danger. I have the same symptoms as sharpie1

Theres a "Windows Security Alert" pop up in the format of Windows 98 (I run Windows Xp Media Center) that keeps bugging me. This is what it says:

At first I laughed at this guy who is basically telling me that he want me to click "OK" so he can infect my computer :] but then it just got annoying!

theres also a spyware alert in the Windows version that i use that pops up and tells me :

i went to the symantec NetSky remover, but it said my computer isn't infected with it, and my ZoneAlarm says my computer is safe. Someone please check my log or give me tips on how to remove my probelm. It would be much appreciated.

The entries you listed are the ones associated with netsky from what I've seen. Try booting into safe mode and removing them with HijackThis. This seems to work for most people.

When your computer is booting up, hold down F8, and a screen will appear with various options, one of which is Safe Mode.
