New worm disguises as MS update

The latest variant of the mass-mailing Sober worm, discovered on Monday, masquerades as an official Microsoft patch for the MyDoom worm.

Actually it was discovered March 7th and was downgraded from a category 3 to a category 2 on Sunday March 14:

Hopefully not. The key is for people to understand how to recognize these viruses. An added note to what you've pointed out is that Microsoft NEVER will send a patch notice via email. Any email ever received like that will always be a virus or worm.
