Should be able to make a CSS config file for that resolution, JS should have a way to detect the resolution then select the right CSS.

you sure you can't drop it to that point, most monitors can still do so but here is an idea;

- thinking aloud but using vmware, may be able to set the resolution.
- use other computers for testing
- browser testing sites
- using css and body align="%80" mite be able to autofit

any thoughts?

well 1024x768 as far as i see is the default these days, like the new 800x600. Soon 1280x800 is next but back on track here as far as i am concerned there is no reason to go below that unless we are looking into mobile resolutions that are even smaller.

This has a long list of mobile phones and their screens :P

So if you got a lot of mobile traffic then mite need a few CSS files

i got it figured out. In the IE8 Tools->Developer Tools->Tools->Resize. i was able to change the screen size of the window. I maybe able to do it under chrome but i havent played with it too much under the developer tools.
