Hey everyone I have bought office xp oem and I am going to be putting this on an xp machine. I am going to be putting it on 80 actually so I need to make an image where the office is installed but the key needs to be put in as I dont have one volume key but 80 oem keys. Can someone tell me how to do this with sysprep

Thanks

Are you imaging the entire drive to be dupe'd on all the machines? Or just the office installation?

I am going to be imaging the drive to be put on every computer. Not just the office. I am making a windows xp pro O/S image with custom programs on it. One being office xp small business. I need to make it so every new image that is made asks for the basic settings and serial number.

Thanks

Ok, then your best bet would probably be just using Norton Ghost to create an image (assuming all the PCs are identical), then edit the keys directly in the registry on each machine for both Windows and OfficeXP.

It's gonna be near-impossible to create a distribution that will install everything and set it up and have it ask for serials without installing each one individually, or speaking directly to Micro$oft (which will probably mean you'll have to get the M$DN kit - which isn't cheap).

I know what you mean about Sysprep. I have seen this tool used very effectively in a network environment. Unfortunately I do not remember exactly how it worked. In case you are still interested in the use of Sysprep here are some links to pages on M$ website.
