So here's the deal ... I have set the options for XP so that my windows all open in the same window ... but what happens is the following ...

- I open up "My Computer" (I now have one window open)
- I open my C: drive from there (I now have two windows open)
- I open a subfolder from C: (I still have 2 windows open)
- I open another subfolder (I still have 2 windows open)
- I press up all the way back to "My Computer" (I still have 2 windows open)
- I open up the C; drive again (I now have 3 windows open)

Now what I actually want is for there to be only one window open all the time, but I can't get it to happen ... should I reinstall or is there some option somewhere to disable that "feature" ?

Open up My Computer and click Tools -> Folder Options. Click the button that says Restore Defaults.

My XP machine is set to open each folder in the same window and that is exactly what it does.

I have done that ... and nothing yet ... then I decide dthat it was time for a virus scan ... and so I am busy running, and it seems that I have a little infection, so I will clear that up first and then carry on with questioning if it still doesn't work ...
