Hp pavillion laptop blue screen of death help!!!!

ok so this is whats going on..i loaded norton on my laptop, because my comp was acting wierd..couldn't get into sound attributes, so i figured I had a virus..things were ok..norton saw no viruses just adware..so the next day I boot up and get the blue screen of death, says no writeable disc, absent etc..in log or file, so now i get a black screen message that says win sys 32 .exe...kernel is missingand to load system disc and repair with r on first screen...now it says system set does not appear to have an active controlset key..says to restart it with last known good config..im afraid to try that..didnt work before..that was one of the first things I tried...hmmm...help me!!!!

It can't hurt to try last known good config again. There is nothing to lose. People in another forum are recommending SpinRite 6.0
