"Personal antivirus"

Personal antivirus" keeps popping up on my screen and blocking any attempt to go on any website. A red screen pops up and tells me to purhcase this software. I ran Avast and it dosn't seem to catch anything.How do i get rid of?

That's a fake alert from a trojan called Zlob. The site above has a removal method but recommends you download their spyware removal program.

Try the manual instructions first & let me know how it goes.

Spybot S&D will also remove that easily

Is spyhunter safe to purchase. I tried manual but it still popos up.

My rule of thumb is that if they want you to buy it, to remove the spyware they find, best rule of thumb is skip it.

This used to be a good list of bogus spyware removal programs, but it hasn't been updated for two years.

Don't buy anything. Did you actually go through all the registry keys & delete them?

just now came across this too. Literally couldn't access a single site on that computer. Had to download the proggy on my comp (spybot and malwarebytes) and transfer the install files via thumb drive. Nasty little bugger

We've had several hit by it at work. best way I've found so far is do a malwarebytes and spybot scan in safe mode. Been pretty successful nixing it on the first shot that way.
