phantom Macintosh hd (X:) drive found in My Computer

anybody know what might cause this? the only thing i can think is that i was using a crappy p2p with a glitch. this was not my x: yet clearly showed in My Computer and i had access to it. i disconnected it and it disappeared. any help?
