Post 3+ Months Ago

My flat mate has Windows Vista and a Lexmark 1200 series printer, and at an attempt to print a test page, resulted in nothing but a blank page being printed.
I have deleted the printer and reinstalled the latest drivers, and have manage to get it to print, however white squares had appeared over the page.
This error keeps happening on random occasions, and rarely it prints flawlessly.
Along with this some text may be faded, as well as the colour does not work.
The troubleshoot has been of no help. Does anyone know of how to fix this?

Cheers, Randomality.

Have you tried the driver on the above site?

Are you trying to print over a wireless connection?

If not, how is the printer connected, LPT1, USB, IP address, etc...?

Yes, I have tried the driver on the site above, I've also had Vista get the latest drivers itself.
It is connected via USB.

Go to the printer properties, ports and make sure the port is listed properly. Then look at the advanced tab and try, "print directly to the printer" option.

Also look at the device manager for any conflicts. Look at the event viewer logs as well.
