i have a problem with windows ME

how do i get 7 infected files are in system restore in windows ME

i have tryed shuting down system restore , the check mark box reads that is it disabled but the slider bar for the minium is not movable.

how do i get the removable tool for w32.klez states system is enable but the box shows that it is disabled.....

is there a way to delete files in system restore in MS-Dos??

there should be a way to delete the old dates on the system restore. try deleting the old dates in system restore or turning it off all together and then scan for viruses. I dont use system restore i find it takes up way too much of my harddrive at least 15+ gigs, and i also find it doesnt work half the time so i turned it off.

go to start/programs/accessories/system tools/system restore. click next and you should be able to delete the dates shown.

If you have a ME floppy boot disk, I'd boot from that and then enter this command:
Code: [ Select ]
DELTREE C:\_RESTORE


That will delete _RESTORE and any files and sub-directories within.

If you decide to renable System restore, _RESTORE will be recreated.
