problem with windows xp home.

There is a computer at work that is on a network that has windows xp home and it has a guest account and an admin. account on it. When I do any changes in either account Norton anti virus auto protect for email stops running. How do I fix that problem? can anyonr Please help me. Thank You!

are you making the change as the admin? and is this computer
using a local copy of antivrirus? or corporate?

yes the changes are in admin and I am using a local copy of norton.
