Post 3+ Months Ago

I have right clicked on task bar and set quick launch.
When I restart my computer, my taskbar is completely blank and I have to reselect the quick launch option to get my icons set again. Then when I restart my computer it is gone again.

Can anyone tell me what is wrong and how to fix it?

Thanks

Try here:

Scroll below the ads to see the responses.

It's similar to your problem, but not sure if it's quite what you need.

I had this problem. After searching many forums I found out that it has to do with spyware/adware programs deleting information in the registry thus keeping the quicklaunch from loading.

Download this file to your harddrive
http://www.criticalnexus.com/resources/ ... oolbar.reg

Double click it. It will ask you to add to your registry. Click Yes.

Try to load your Quicklaunch again and see if that works.

Thabks for the information BUT does not correct the problem

I downloaded the file and added to registry. Retried quick launch but the irons are not retained in the taskbar.

just run the xp setup again and there should be a repair option. I would back up important things first though
