Ok, This will happen every few hours for no reason. Ill just be sitting there and then my computer will start playing an advertisement. Yesterday it was for some movie and today it was for some resume website. I've seen the commercials on tv before. But when they play nothing pops up and all i can hear is the sound. I can't actually see the commercial, just hear it. I am running Windows XP. Anybody know whats going on?

Do you also have AOL Instant Messenger? Heh, recently they've been playing movie trailers on the buddy list window and it took me a bit to figure out where the sound was coming from. Check there next time that you hear it just in case.

here's what I just did today --

    - I uninstalled AIM v5
    - I went to http://www.oldversion.com and downloaded v4.8 (no ads)
    - installed it (and was instantly reminded how nice and clean it used to be)
    - then I went to http://www.big-o-software.com/products/ ... wnload.php and installed AIM+

I am so much happier now...and no more of those crappy ads you talked
about!

here's AIM with AIM+ --

Best of all, it's FREE!
You can do so much more with this addon. More info here --

I have dead aim and like 5.2 version of aim. so that would not be the problem becuase dead aim gets rid of the ads from aim. UNFLUX aim+ was orignally found to have spyware did they fix that?

AIM+ is the bomb, i used it for a long time. but i like to have the newer versions of aim cuz they have some cool feature i like to use, like adding icq #'s to your buddy list for example and being able to text message any mobile phone from aim etc etc.. i miss the conversation logs in aim+ though and the clone feature..
