Reformat, instaling windows freezes

i reformated then when i go to install windows XP it gets to about 3/4 of the way then freezes, Any one know why? i realy need to get my computer up and going. Ive reformated again and again trying to get windows to install but everytime it freezes at the same point.

1. Try a different copy of XP to install
2. It could b your hard-disk at fault. Reseat it
3. Reseat the Ram

What was intslled on the computer before? Was it XP? If not, what are the computer specs? Processor and ram specifically.

i took out my extra ram and tried it again but it didnt work so i reset the base ram and the drive but it still didnt work.
My system is 2.4 ghz pentium 4, 512 ram (normaly 768 but i took out the extra ram) running at 266mhz . My old OS was also windows XP (same disc for that matter)

i do not have another copy of XP
oh well im taking my computer to a proffesional guy im friends with tommorow he said me might know how to get it up. I will let you know how it turns out.

Yep my friend got it to work for me, he told me that it was my new video card causing the problem so he put a realy old 2mb PCI card in there and windows installed perfectly then i popped my new one back in and now everything is good.
