What is the context of this? Why can't she shut it down herself? Is anybody with the computer?

Easiest way would probably be software used to take control of remote computers. The simplest and my personal favourite is CrossLoop.

So you're doing it just to annoy him?

I'll help you with the JavaScript though :)

THIS is probably the best place to learn JavaScript.

I can tell you but I'd prefer to know more details. If it's a prank or just for fun, there's not much use in it. I'll simply say give google a try and use remote shutdown as your keywords. You won't need to learn programming for it.

pahvi67, for your information this is a webmaster forum. Not a "play tricks on your brother" forum.

I suggest you try somewhere else.

And with grinch's post, I think that's all the further this topic needs to go. We aren't here to help you play games on people.

It's a rather useful tool when used for it's intention. Say you're doing a rather lengthy installation, or updates, and have to reboot when completed. You really don't want to wait around for it, so you can set the pc to automatically shut down after a certain period of time.

We used this a lot during the XP SP2 upgrade to save ourselves time waiting and waiting for Microsoft to finish "Cleaning Up."
