I'm looking for a good program or a script for Group Policy (WS2K3) to remove temp internet files for all uses on each of my computers (WinXP).

Under User Configuration->Windows Settings->Internet Explorer Maintenance (you need to right click, and put in Preference Mode)->Advanced.

Then choose Internet Settings, then Advanced settings. There you will find the setting for Delete saved pages when browser is closed under Security.

I learned something new researching this.

before I opened this thread i did find how to do that. thanks

I'd like to be able to restrict the browsers/users from removing the temp files in case i need to investigate a trouble employee.

At the same time i'd like to have all the computers be able to erase all of the temp files, upon command, when i need them to.

hope i'm making sense, it's been a long monday :(

As far as prevention of removing temp files take a look here in Group Policy

User Configuration \ Administrative Templates \ Windows Components \ Internet Explorer \ Delete Browsing History

There are several policies that can help you. Problem is you need IE 8 for most of them and possibly 2008 server domain controllers.

Erasing the temp files on command will probably have to be a script and that isn't my strong point.
