Repairing virus damage - Win98 SE

Hello and thanks in advance for your time...

First off i'm a gamer and do very lil surfing on the web
now my problem is my son goes to web sites and looks at porn and such...so i have virius and god knows what else in my puter... i have removed (i think all of the virus) but i can't get on my game...that's my main problem..
Ok i got some DLL files missing and went to d/l them so i can get my game up and working... one of them was Winmm.dll (sound file i think)
then i have a ODBC file missing (no clue what that is) but i got all the DLL files that i could find on ODBC ... well i put them in my C/windows/system ... so i click on my computer , then C drive , then windows .... heres were the problem i'm stuck at ... the window pops up with nothing in there .... like it's empty???? what's happening please help....
