Restore MSN Emoticons

Hi everyone, I have a problem and I have come to you good people in the hopes of a resolution. I have recently upgraded to a 64bit version of WindowsXP and I used a new hard drive to do it and ofcourse after re-installing MSN 7.5 my emoticons are back to what come with MSN.
My question is; how do I retrieve my emoticons (smilies) from my other Hard Drive containing my old WindowsXP and MSN installation?

you wont be able to do it because the emoticons are only registered in the old cache files of your computer...if you have those emoticons in jpg or gif file, you mite be able to retrieve them by repinning them into your msn.

Yea the only way you have of recovering them would be by using special software designed to recover deleted files. However there is still a very small chance you will be able to recover them so the chances are you wont be able to get them back. Sorry.

I think you guys misunderstand me, I have 2 hard drives;

1. my new drive with WinXP 64bit
2. my old C: drive (currently attached to my comp as the D: drive) with my old WinXP installation, which ofcourse includes my MSN + emoticons

This "cache" you talk about, is that an exact file I can simply move from my D: to my C: drive?

I found it; the emoticons are stored as .dat files in the following directory:

C:\Documents and Settings\Monk\Application Data\Microsoft\MSN Messenger

Look in each numbered folder for the subfolder: "CustomEmoticons", they will most likely all have it. Then check that "CustomEmoticons" folder for any files ending with ".dat" rename them all so they end with ".jpg" (excluding map.dat). Then open them as you would any other picture file.
