I am currently running Windows XP pro. Whenever my computer shuts down RUNDLL32.exe stops responding and I get an error message. How do I fix this problem? I have tried System Informaion and going into tools to find System File Checker. But it is not there. Is it possible to download the file from elsewhere to replace? Or is there another way to extract it from the windows cd?

Possible help:
http://www.microsoft.com/learning/books ... ns/127.asp

Since you are on XP that might not be the best help, but should give you some idea of what's going on.

Also try this google search:
rundll32 shutdown error
