Safe mode problems

I have Vista Home Basic and when I go into my safe mode I have a black screen and safe mode in all 4 cornersand I also have the task bar at the bottom, how can I fix this, any help will be appreciated.Thanks.

OK apparently this is being refered to as the vista KSOD (blacK Screen Of Death).

it tells me to boot in vista media ,how do I do that

I presume that means the installation disk. I've never used Vista so I'm not certain.
