I have a small problem, which is probably solved pretty easily, but I don't know how.

Every time I double click to open a folder, the search option comes up instead of showing the files in the folder.
When I right click on a folder, the search option is the one on top, not Open.
So if I want to open a folder, I have to right click on it. Pretty annoying.
Anyone who knows how to fix this?
Thx

(using win xp home edition, if it helps)

Here is an excerpt from the following website: http://www.onecomputerguy.com/windowsxp_tips.htm

Quote:
Windows Explorer Opens Search Companion Rather than the Folder

If the Windows Explorer opens up the Search Companion rather than opening up the actual folder, the default setting for opening a folder is changed.

To correct this:

1. Start Regedit
2. Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \ Directory \ shell and HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \ Drive \ shell]
3. Edit the default value to be explorer or none

JUST BE ADVISED !! MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR REGISTRY BEFORE YOU GO AND EDIT IT!!!!

Hope this helps
