see network now lets connect to it?

I can see my network, i have internet from it. the problem is that i cannot access it. i get an error saying that i may not have permission to but as far as i know i do have access. i can talk to some people but as far as i know my permissions didn't change. if u need the exact error i will post it


what can i do to fix it?

i had a problem similar when connecting to a friends computer he had to give me permision from his machine even though i was using internet off his router i couldnt access his files . . . not sure how he changed it dont remember to well now so correct me if i am wrong but i think he went into the network found my machine right clicked properties and in there he granted me access.

If it is not on a domain using win2000 server than both PC's need to have the same work group settings.
