Hy,
I set up a home network on 2 PCs (both have XP) and i enabled sharing for some folders...
I have a problem though:
not all the files can be used even though i can see them inside the shared folders...i receive the access message error....

Does anyone know why some files cannot be used on shared folders (Other than the default sharing folder that XP set by default)>>

Tx

Also check to make sure that each folder has sharing enabled. Although it should do this automatically, folder B inside of folder A might not be shared if you enable sharing on folder A. So you might want to check the sharing properties of folder B.

With the ability to set & lock permissions on individual files & folders (what shedevil mentioned) the permissions on theese files may be locked.
Here's how to reset all child permissions as jupiter mentioned.

Right click the folder (folder A) and select properties,
Select the security tab,
Now click advanced,
Make sure permissions tab is selected,
Check the box that says "Reset permissions on all child objects and enable propagation of inheritable permissions."
Click apply,
in the confirmation dialog that pops up click "yes".
The checkbox you checked should unckeck itself.
You should be good to go.
Strong with this one, the sudo is.
