hey everybody,
somethings wrong with my friend's computer which i am trying to fix.

persistent problems

- Connection to internet is slow. Have to retry connection several times
- Using windows media player or Power DVD will definitely cause the PC to hang.

I was thinking that it needs a windwos reinstallation..

any good advice ?

Try a scandisk and check the fix errors, on reboot it will scan the PC and fix indexes...
You also are havin problem with downloaded Videos through P2P...
So either the files are corrupted and they do affect eplorer's performance a lot, or you also have ALOT of spyware adware or so...

If thats the case then download ad aware or spybot to clean your pc

Hai there,

I am not any expert, but i have some suggesions. Uninstall unwanted programs by using add/ remove, Get a spyware or trojan scanner. Look in the "End Task" which all programs are running? If there is any unwanted program running just Uninstall it. If your friends OS is 2000pro u can check which program is using a lot of memory by using task manager. check the start up loading programs. Like that.... I think there will be some program that is using a lot of memory without your knowldge. Then try a Virus scan, a Spyware scan like that and i think most probably it will work fine.

regards,
kuttan.
