Just delete the 16 million entries that I listed below and your PC should be fine.

Thanks!!!

I deleted those items but it wouldn't let me delete either of these:

C:\WINDOWS\wftadfi16_080925a.dll tan16d

O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\windows\system32\mmchost.dll

O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\windows\system32\mmchost.dll

The first was not listed as one that I could check (or at least I looked really hard) to delete - and the second an error messgae came up saying I needed a L... something to delete that.

This is my new highjack report:

There are still a lot of things that have to be removed. So here's what you do. PRINT MY POST. Delete all the entries. Then download and run Anti Malware from http://www.malwarebytes.org Fix selected.

I see that AOL is running on your PC. Go to the control panel, add and remove programs, highlight AOL and click remove. It won't remove it. It will list the versions that you have. Keep only the latest, if you even want that. If you don't, uninstall all of them. Multi versions of AOL can slow a PC big time.

Then run Hijack This again. Go back to my list that you printed in case you missed something or in case it recreated itself. If things are being recreated, I'll tell you how to find them in the registry.

Does it help to say that realsched.exe always starts up and takes up 99 CPU (but only 200 k) until I close it?

it seems like iexplorer.exe isn't running in the background now :) yay

It's getting better but you aren't there yet. If the items below keep recreating themselves, then you have to delete them in the registry. Start, run, type regedit and press enter.

Click on the following + signs until you get to the run folder. Then open the run folder. Do that in both H_KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE &
H_KEY_CURRENT_USER

Software
Microsoft
Windows
CurrentVersion
Run

When you get there look on the right side. Delete any of those things on the list.

Also, I see you still have AOL running. Did you remove the unused versions?

Yes I checked and the only version of AOL I have is my current one -which my mother is addicted to and need to keep...

Those 7 files DID self replicate -- is it abnormal that they did so immediately and not after reboot? I went to manually delete them but couldn't find them list -- the path would be listed all the way to the right correct? under data? I couldn't see them :\...

thanks!!

Delete the registry value if you see it. Forget about the path.

You can try smitfraudfix. It gives you some options.

Before working with the registry or letting other specialized programs work with it, be sure to back it up.

By the registry value... you mean anywhere that I see the names you told me right? I don't see them...

A registry value is seen when you run regedit. The path in the registry is different than the path in Windows. If you delete something in Windows and it replicates itself, then it has to be removed from the registry to stop it.

I checked both the H_KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE &
H_KEY_CURRENT_USER and neither had any of those paths in them.... :(

So where do we stand now? Have you regained some of your processing speed? If you still have problems, download, update and run anti malware from http://www.malwarebytes.org
