XP SP3 was delayed for rms reasons. Is there any other reason why it should not be installed?

I generally don't install service packs until I'm having a problem. I took a chance with service pack 1 for Vista but I really don't care if Vista crashes and burns. However, I don't want to take that chance with XP.

If it aint broke, don't fix it.

SP3 is actually one you may consider installing. There are performance improvements and adds some Vista capabilities to XP. SP3 isn't as drastic as SP2 was.

If you aren't using Microsoft Dynamics go ahead and install it.

I'm glad you pointed out the Dynamics, Grinch. i have several Key users of Dynamics. What's the glitch with that? And does anyone know if this would conflict with Peoplesoft?

No idea about Peoplesoft.

The problem seems to center around an issue with the Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System, which is known as RMS. RMS is typically used by medium and small businesses and according to the report, the issue compromises or breaks RMS. Since the application is not widely in use by the vast amount of Windows XP users, the decision to pull Service Pack 3 from release is in some ways puzzling, as Service Pack 3 enjoyed one of the longest development and beta testing processes in Microsoft history.
