Are you running Exchange or some other e-mail service on a 2k3 box?

Here's a free one I use - ORFilter (Open Relay Filter). http://martijnjongen.com/Default.aspx?tabid=27

Customizable XML configuration allows you to alter what gets filtered and what doesn't, and runs before mail hits your mail server. Works well. Not 100%, but pretty good for a free product and I'm using it with Exchange server. I'd say it filters about 95% of spam. (over 5,000 spam emails get filtered every week)

*note - the program hasn't been updated in a couple years (its been 5.0.2 Beta for a long time), but it still works just fine.

*Also important - if you decide to use this, please be sure to read the important notice here:

If you don't follow that advice all your good emails will end up getting blocked.

Like I mentioned to you in private message, ORFilter, is old, outdated, and no longer updated or supported. I would recommend finding something else.

Troubleshooting errors with ORFilter is mostly impossible. Because of recent security updates in Exchange, it now sends an invalid Carriage Return or Line Feed (CR/LF) that is "illegal" and many SMTP servers will reject the emails. It can only be corrected by updating the executable, and martijnjongen is no longer updating it.

For Windows server running Microsoft Exchange 2003 SP2 or Exchange 2007 use the Intelligent Message Filter that is built in. It performs way better than ORFilter ever did.

-------------

Unfortunately IMF V1 was a standalone application for Exchange 2000 and is no longer supported or available for download. Here are some spam applications I found. I have never used any of them and cannot recommend anything. You may just have to experiment until you find one that works for you.
