Hi-speed usb mass storage device

hi all have problem whith my external hard disc is usb2.0 wen i plugged in my laptop comes whith this msg "the usb mass storage device is Hi-Speed usb device and will function at reduced speed when plugged into a non-hi-speed port " so seemz need 2 installed hi-speed host controllers on my laptop so please help me out wit this problem how can i solve this crazy things please tell me wat can i do to mount it in ma linux in win also i cant

it seems like ur laptop got a usb 1.0 thats why it show that messege but i think u can still work with your hd although is not connect to the hi-speed usb. is it working?
and in linux it depend which linux u use some of linux version u have to mount it and some then can detect it

give us linux version and if its work in windows?

Go to your BIOS settings(tap F2 repeatedly during booting before you can see anything on the screen). Now go to the Advanced option where the USB speed is mentioned. You can change it from High speed to full speed.

In Intel BIOS its at Advanced>USB Configuration. You may check the speed configuration and USB legacy support there.
