Insert your windows 95 CD into the CD-ROM drive, enter this command:

d:\Win95\setup.exe <- this is wrong
I'm assuming you want to install Win95...

D:\ might need to be changed depending on how many hard drives you have.

If d:\win95\setup.exe doesn't work, try d:\setup.exe. It's been awhile since I've used 95...

good luck :)

It's definately d:\setup.exe

enter this:

D:\

then enter this:

dir

Post what is displayed. Not everything actually. what you are looking for is the setup.exe program.

Also, you might try entering e:\setup.exe

Whatever drive I typ I get this (Invalid drive specification)
except A. the startdisk worked.
But he is not cathing the drive.
My cd-rom drive is D:
and the disk drive is A:
Even when I typ C: I get Invalid drive specification.
the (dir) only works at A: it shows the content of the disk.

Try reformatting c:\

format c:

If that does't work, you might try repartitioning the hard drive:
http://www.logan.eclipse.co.uk/fdisk%20 ... ioning.htm

After repartitioning, you would then format.

What did you use to format your drive originally?

To format my computer I go to MS-DOS.
And I write:

format c:

But I made a win 98 bootdisk. And I can open
D: and E: now.

It is not matter to me if it is 98/95 the important is
the setup.exe

when I write D:\setup.exe he say's

not ready reading drive D

which partition program do I have to use
FDISK???

thank you

hmm, if you can see the D: and E: drives now, then you most likely don't need to repartition.

what is the e: drive?

Never mind about repartitioning for now. Try formatting C:

Make sure you use a boot disk which has a cdrom driver. The one you are using may not.

sorry, but I have to go. Others here will be able to help you as well..

Good luck! :)

I don't know But I know

A: disk drive
C: (windows) computer
D: CD-ROM

I didn't have E: before but I can get into it now.
I tried both in setup.exe. But he cannot read the
CD-ROM because also when I write dir in D or E
I don't see the content???
