Strange problem

I've a strange problem with windows login in XP.

I changed user's password in "User accounts" (control panel), but next time I was logging in, it didn't accept my password at all.

BACKGROUND INFO:
* XP (fin)
* it was previously logging in directly without welcome screen
* Password contains one scandinavian letter.

I'm sure I've written passeword correcly. (because, before I was booting XP, I used this username+password combination in authentication of Webtrends web client ... so inside XP it worked).

This is total guesswork, but could it be that the Scandinavian letter set is not loaded until after logon?

Yeah, I agree. Windows doens tload the TSRs and other background programs until after you log-on. If the scandinavian letter program isnt loaded, then it wont recognize the letter you type. I suggest changing the password to somthing with just normal english letters and see if it still screws up. If it doesnt, then you have found your problem.
