I already work what i've read in the forum from the problem of system32\hal.dll but when i do the intallations, after the copying of the setup files it cannot continue the installation of the windows xp. the next will show again the problem....so i asked why. im so tired and i am not yet sleep, i am 24 hours to do this?///

What is the error you get that won't allow the install to continue?

the file was missing or corrupt: system32\hal.dll.

what did i do to this problem

i hope you will help me to do this right now co'z i have document to do so....

Have you read this? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314477 and have you followed any of those instructions? From your post we can't tell what you did or didn't do, exactly. You need to be a little more specific.

i have a problem to my installation of windows xp...
the problem is the file are missing or corrupted: <windows root>system32\hal.dll

I tried to fix it. How?

so i tried to follow the command in the forum

i go to the windows setup recovery

and it shows c:windows>

and i will type the bootcfg /list
and the list was shows

and I type bootcfg /rebuild

aand it show:

the windows installtion scan was succesfull.

after that, the c:windows shows again,
and Add Installation to boot list? <yes/no/all>

that is my problem so, what i choose from the 3 choices?

Disk Wipe will take care of removing the DDO and your formatting if you don't mind spending $50 for it.

You could also try KillDisk which is free. I use it all the time.
