tcpsvcs.exe process is hogging my cpu

Occasionally my computer will suddenly bog down and I've found that the tcpsvcs.exe process is using upwards of 90% of my cpu. When I end the process the problem stops, but I've been told it is dangerous to end processes, and I have no idea what it is, or does. I have scanned for viruses with several updated virus programs and found nothing. Any ideas?

tcpsvcs.exe is a valid Microsoft program used with TCP/IP, however some trojans can create the same file name in a different directory. This is a very likely possibility here:

If your virus scan didn't catch anything download Adaware and Spybot S&D, update the definitions and run them. You can get the links in this thread:

Those should catch it and get rid of it. If not let us know.
