Hi

I have just bought a new laptop with Microsoft Windows installed. However, many of my friends still operate on Windows20000. When I receive attachments to emails from them in Windows2000 I cannot open them on my machine. Is there a simple way that I can transfer/translate the files so I can open them using Vista. I am not a hight tec IT person so will need careful instruction on what to do ie step by step guide.

many thanks

Alan

Yes I know that, but I have been told that I can download and install a tool that converts Word documents to view in Works. I was hoping someone could tell me what thee download is

Try this

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en

You could have also just did a search for "Convert Microsoft Works to Microsoft Word" and found the exact same link I did. Search engines truly are amazing ;)

Thanks for all your helpful advice. I now need to take this in and try a few options. It looks like the sites yoou have referred mt too have some download options which I will try. Looks like I'm getting much closer to a solution, I can feel it in my bones.

many thanks
