I am trying to go from 32 bit Vista to 64 bit Windows 7.

The 32 bit Vista was installed by mistake. My system can handle a 64 bit OS. Now I have finally found the time to upgrade. But the 64 bit intallation DVD can't be read from my OS. Any Advice?

Do I need to boot from that DVD drive? Will that work?

Yes boot from the DVD using the boot menu and select your DVD drive.

Once in the setup follow the instructions.

If you can get windows 7 has it is the upgraded version of vista.

Whats your specialty Zealous?

I'm kinda a Cisco kind of guy with more towards Server builds for DC's and Sharepoint. Switching however is the fortay.

I am across the board mostly tech support. What does your router have anything to do with your windows installation boot issue (F9/R12).

If you know what Cisco is and server setup experience then why do you need to question booting ability's?
