Hi and This is praveen,
Can anyone help me in solving my issue.
What happened yesterday, i was in D: drive in my PC and want to hide one folder .I did right click on the folder properties>attributes>tick the hidden option .And then i went to tool>folder options>View and tick on the "donot show the hidden files and folders ".
Then the folder disappered from my drive .
After some time when i want to open that folder,i did tool>folder options>View and tick on the "show the file and folder option" and press the Apply and ok button. Still that folder is not visible to me.
can any one tell the solution for this.

What was the name of the folder and what was in it? I ask just to determine if it's a system folder or not. Also, do you remember the path to the folder?

Anyway, open a command prompt and run the following 2 commands with the spaces the way I have them. Press enter after each. Make sure that show hidden folders is checked in explorer and make sure you are logged in as administrator or the equivalent.

cd \

attrib -h *.*

Thanks for the reply.

I just tried with the given solution but its not working,i mean i can't see the hidden folder.

The name of the folder is "praveen" and its is not a system folder.I kept mp3 songs in that folder. The path is just d:\praveen.

Anyhow i don't require that folder, but why is that happening in my pc and whenever i tried to enable the "show the hidden files and folders" and press ok button ,it is again going to "Donot show hidden files and folders".Is that a virus ?

Waiting for your valuable replies.

I have had that same issue before, and at that time my computer did have an infection ... it was called "SmithFraud" ... I used a little tool my one friend wrote to get rid of it ... but I have this idea that "AdAware" would be able to remove it ...

Did you remember to hit "apply" when you enabled view hidden~ I know you said that you did in the first post but sometimes it is the little things.
