Hello

I am new to this website and I would really appreciate any help I can get.

So here's my problem:

I have been getting a blue screen on my laptop and it says unmountable boot volume. Every time I turn it on it gives me options to start it normally or in safe mode and a few other options. Well I have tried them all and they all lead me to the blue screen and the computer continually restarts itself. I have had this laptop laying around for months and I haven't figured out how to fix it. So I started to do research and I know that every suggestion says to load some sort of cd or floppies.

Well the laptop was actually won through a scholarship and it is an IBM thinkpad and it look really old therefore I have none of the cds to load the software and when I turn it on it does say windows xp but i do remember having windows 2007 so i am just completely confused and don't even know how to get started on fixing it.

So my question basically is Should I just buy a new one? Or is there any possible way to fix it?

Please help

If you can borrow an XP CD, follow those instructions.
