Virus in Master boot

I have a virus in Master boot record. Norton found it but can't delete it. What can I do?

boot to your Windows OS CD, get to recovery console dos prompt and type fixmbr and hit enter

sounds like you have a rootkit. Took me one week last week to find one and nix it. That's only the quick fix. You have a lot more work to do to get rid of it.
