You can hide drives using Tweakui for Windows XP and 2003.

Launch Tweakui. Go to My Computer | Drives then uncheck any drives you want to hide.

Any hidden drives will still be accessible through the command prompt but will be hidden from Windows Explorer.

Not sure if this is exactly what you want so I hope this is useful to you.

What do you also have to be able to forbid and to use his method as necessary?

You can disable the drive:

Open My computer, Right-click on any Drive Icon, select the Hardware tab, select your CD-RW Drive, Click Properties at the bottom. At the the bottom, you will see a drop-down box which says "Use this Device (enable)". Change that to "Do not use this device (disable)". Click Ok. The CD-RW will now be inaccessible. You can use the same method to re-enable the drive.

This can also be done through Device Manager. Right-click on your CD-RW entry in Device Manager and select disable.

Hope this helps.
