If you have tweakui, you can set a user for autologon.

Alternately, if the account is an admin account, you can use this registry file:

Code: [ Select ]
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
"DefaultUserName"="username"
"DefaultPassword"="*********"
"AutoAdminLogon"="1"
  1. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
  2. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
  3. "DefaultUserName"="username"
  4. "DefaultPassword"="*********"
  5. "AutoAdminLogon"="1"

Just copy this text to a text file, insert the relevant info, save the file as a .reg file. Double-click the file to merge it into your registy. Windows should log on automatically.

Edit: I always forget this. What OS are you running? The above reg file works for NT/2K/XP.

I did read it but I'm not exactly sure what the problem is. Let's continue this discussion in that thread...

Also, for the original problem, if you only have one user on your computer, and you have no password, you can set it up to do this in the users section of the control panel. It's safer that way!
