Quote:
The software giant's [Microsofts'] new $300 million advertising campaign, devised by a newly hired ad agency, has been closely guarded. But Mr. Seinfeld will be one of the key celebrity pitchmen, say people close to the situation. He will appear with Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates in ads and receive about $10 million for the work, they say.

I mean come on, couldn't Apple afford to just dig up an old celebrity from obscurity to do an ad with ?

People don't want new faces, innovative products, & creative marketing, they want the same old thing they've always wanted.

I think they are getting desperate to be honest.. They haven't had the best recourse here lately.

Not really, I won't buy a Mac no matter what and I know several others that feel the same as me. If anything those ads make me hate Apple and their snobby fanboys even more.

I'm with you Mr. Grinch. For me a Mac has no appeal.

While I thought the string of commercials were clever at first, they quickly became annoying and, as you say, snobby.

however, I wouldn't be opposed to purchasing a Mac myself. both of my roommates have one. however, i like upgrading my hardware in sections at a time, rather than the entire thing all at once >.< + who uses linux on a mac? :/

I saw one of the new ads featuring Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates. I have to say I was extremely confused at what the ad was even trying to say. Most of the commercial was Bill buying a pair of shoes that "run tight". Overall I thought it was extremely dumb.

i saw that recently as well, and i agree. it seems that there wasn't really any point to the commercial.. kinda confused about what shoes have to do with anything.

I just watched "MAC killed my inner child" that was great.

As for the MS add with Jerry and Bill. I'm pretty sure brain cells die every time I see it.
