Click the Start button and right click Computer and select manage. Does it ask for login credentials? If so you are not logged in as an administrator.

Grinch I did what you said. It says this option requires my permission. It does not ask me for any login credentials.

That means that you do not have the right permissions to access it, and you need to talk to your "system administrator", which is probably you. I don't have a vista box so I cant really help you on how to log in as the system administrator. I think they disable the administrator account for the login screen.

Then the account you are logged in as does not have administrator privilege.

Did you turn off the UAC?

Grinch I am not sure, My vista knowladge is not that great. On startup it says I am the administrator. And I can choose to run things as the administrator and I can download anything ect ect.

I am pretty sure I am the admin, Could you guide me through anything to help me check. Or explain what I should do.

Thanks.

As a local administrator you should be able to run the ipconfig /release. The fact that you cannot open Computer Management while logged in as the administrator is troubling as well. My Vista knowledge is limited as well. I'm not really sure what to tell you.

Sorry grinch when I said it asks for my permission all I have to do is clik yes and it lets me, I should have made that alot clearer.

It also says my account is a administrator account. I am very confused.
